Graduate Programs
Thank you for your interest in the Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology graduate program at NDSU. We are excited about the future of our program, and we hope that you will seriously consider NDSU as a place for graduate study. Presently, both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry are offered, with specializations in analytical, physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. In addition, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry are also now available.

A complete application consists of:

1. The Application for Admission to Graduate School form, which is also your application for financial assistance in the form of a Teaching Assistantship. Please indicate whether you are applying for the Chemistry or Biochemistry program.
2. Reasons for Graduate Study Statement. Please indicate your desired area of study: Organic, Inorganic, Analytical, Physical, Biochemistry, or undecided. (Multidisciplinary interests are also encouraged, but please state the major areas of study).
3. Three letters of recommendation from individuals able to comment on you're academic and research potential.
4. An official transcript from all institutions of higher education that you have attended.
5. Test score results for the GRE General examination. Although it is not required, students are also encouraged to also take the GRE Subject exam (in Chemistry or Biochemistry).

Additional requirements for International Students: Test results for the TOEFL examination. Teaching Assistantships require the following minimum iBT subscores: speaking 24, listening 23, reading 22, writing 22.
Note that official score reports are required for all GRE and TOEFL exams; photocopies are not acceptable.
